Time: 9:30-1:30pm: Fished So. Fork of the Skykomish for Steelhead just south of Index. Near Reiter Ponds area. Tried fly fishing for 2 hours, then switched to spin cast w/ various flies being sunk under an indicator. Caught nothing. Saw 1 fisherman hook a good size one about 11am, but he lost it when it took him into the rocks.  Another “baitcaster” had caught 2 around 6-7am.

Weather: 65 F
Water: Clear, relatively shallow
Access: Great
Rig(best): Steelhead flies (Showgirl, Tequila Sunrise, Senyo’s), buggers, muddlers, and an dbl. egg imitator
Notes: This is a great place to fish, close to Seattle and surrounds. My neighbor caught (and released) a 46″ native the same day near the Money Creek campground.
